Recently a number of Local Authorities have reported that suspected cases of vulnerable adult abuse have increased by up to 80% in the past year.

In order to ensure that all allegations of abuse are effectively investigated it is essential that all the relevant evidence is gathered and interviews conducted in accordance with best practice guidelines.

Sancus Solutions is offering a one day course for Managers and a two day course for Investigators to ensure that investigations into vulnerable adult abuse are found to be sufficiently robust and proportionate when examined during any auditing process or subsequent judicial scrutiny.

Our trainer for these programmes is a retired senior detective with a wealth of experience in this field. He is an expert in the development of interviewing skills, enabling professionals to obtain best evidence, together with the knowledge to manage the welfare of both victims and witnesses through to the conclusion of an enquiry.

Our presenter is a specialist in the skills and techniques needed to engage and interview persons suspected of committing sexual crime and/or abusing children and vulnerable adults.

He is also a qualified trainer having delivered training in many Local Authorities to Social Workers as well as delivering such training abroad.

Two Day Programme for Investigators:

Have you been designated as, “Investigating Officer” for an investigation involving a Vulnerable Adult?

As Investigating Officer who has responsibility to undertake an investigation, you will have to be a suitably qualified and experienced member of staff.

You will need to conduct a thorough and unbiased investigation, complying with Human Rights and other legislation which may be challenged in the courts. You will need to take account of any risk management issues relating to the vulnerable adult and those connected with the investigation. You will need to act under the supervision of a manager who you will have to report to and justify decisions made.

If there is a criminal investigation, the police will be the lead organisation and any other investigations must be coordinated with them.
