Local Policing Body Complaints Reviews – learning from the first 6 months

The changes that were brought in by the new legislation in early February have seen challenges and new ways of working for the offices of PCC’s , and other local policing bodies. Sancus has also been at the forefront of this, providing a service to a number of offices dealing with their complaint reviews, and along the way helping improve complaint handling in their forces.

It is important that we all learn from this experience, so at Sancus we are planning a number of one-day workshops, run by our experienced PSD trainers, around the country for any PCC staff involved with handling reviews or in improving standards in complaint handling.

What will the day address?

  • A broad résumé of the police complaints and misconduct regimes
  • Lessons learnt from handling reviews, drawing on experience from the first six months
  • National good practice and guidance
  • Questions answered on any issues attendees want to raise

Who will benefit from attending?

All staff and adjudicators working for PCC offices in England and Wales, dealing with reviews and also those involved in monitoring force complaint handling.

Where will the days be held?

Subject to demand the days will be delivered in all regions in England and in Wales to allow for travel on the day wherever possible. An online option for each day will also be offered where possible.

When will the days be run?

From August onwards, making use of all learning from the first six months of working.

What will it cost?

The day will cost £175.00 (plus vat) per person, with a reduction for those forces who are already using Sancus for their review process.

How do I register interest?

To ensure a place or places on the days please register your interest in the first instance by sending an e-mail to enquiries@sancussolutions.co.uk
